Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our processes and systems align with internal laws, regulations, and standards related to Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AMLTFA).
- Collaborate closely with the PCMLTFA Chief Advisor to ensure alignment of audit processes.
- Coordinate, plan, and execute audits of processes, systems, and activities related to the PCMLTFA, considering identified risks.
- Effectively communicate audit results to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain a close relationship with other risk management sectors within the bank.
- Stay informed on regulatory requirements, industry practices, and audit techniques, contributing to enhancing PCMLTFA expertise among colleagues.
- Carry out regular follow-ups with partners on the progress of action plans developed following audit work and/or regulatory authorities reports.
- Represent the internal audit team to regulatory authorities on matters related to the PCMLTFA, ensuring the bank maintains a transparent and constructive relationship with regulators.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field, with 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in the same fields and 5 years of experience.
- Relevant professional certification, such as CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or a commitment to obtain it within 6 months of taking up the position.
- Proven experience in internal or external auditing, with a solid understanding of auditing principles, professional standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in combating the PCMLTFA, with in-depth knowledge of local and international regulations, such as OSFI, FINTRAC, OFAC, and compliance practices in the banking sector.
- Ability to evaluate complex information, identify problems, and propose strategic solutions aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools, such as Excel and data visualization tools, to support audit recommendations and continuous process auditing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and influence decisions.
