Financial Services Regulatory Compliance Specialist

SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA is seeking a skilled Financial Services Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team in Montreal. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a key area of our Compliance program, interacting with regional and global colleagues within our Capital Market Surveillance department and across various business units to mitigate regulatory and reputational risks.
The Compliance Department at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA is responsible for overseeing compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies that apply to our banking and financial activities. Our team enables the firm to operate according to essential compliance standards, ensuring that our non-compliance and reputation risks are controlled, while supporting the business with existing activities and in the development of new products or services.
As a Financial Services Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will participate in the monitoring of security transactions for compliance with Exchange rules, review trade surveillance alerts, and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders for investigation and resolution. You will also participate in the development, testing, and implementation of new surveillance scenarios and minimum standards, quality assurance and reasonability testing of surveillance controls, and regional and global compliance initiatives and investigations.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in either trade surveillance, general compliance, and/or financial services. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Fluency in English is required, as you will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
This role comes with a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
