Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health.
About the OpportunityThis is a permanent, full-time position working in Western Zone, Soldiers Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment intervention to individuals, families, and groups. They will also provide consultations to hospital staff and engage in research and program evaluation.
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to develop effective linkages with other agencies such as justice, education, social service, and community agencies. Your expertise in crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention will be invaluable in supporting our patients and their families.
We are looking for a professional who can work with a high degree of autonomy and has strong leadership skills. You will be responsible for developing and evaluating new assessment, treatment programs, and services to better meet patient needs. Your ability to coordinate and facilitate group sessions and psychoeducational assessments will be essential in this role.
About You- You hold a PhD in Psychology from an educational institution acceptable to the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
- You are registered or eligible to register with the appropriate regulatory body within the Province of Nova Scotia.
- You have advanced training and experience in child and adolescent mental health, including knowledge of the DSM and ability to assess and diagnose childhood mental health disorders.
- You have diagnostic training and experience, completing mental health assessments and implementing evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents.
