About the Role

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Western Zone, Soldiers Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide time-limited, evidence-based psychological assessments and treatments to adults with Tier-3 mental disorders and substance use disorders.
  • Work collaboratively within a Stepped Care framework, guided by disorder-based clinical care pathways.
  • Participate in regular consultation groups to ensure effective assessment and treatment practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
  • Minimum two years' experience working in mental health and addictions, with a strong understanding of Stepped Care principles and clinical care pathways.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on cultural competence and patient-centered care.
Compensation and Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position, offering a competitive salary of $39.39 - $51.78 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
