{"About the Role

As a Psychologist (Masters) with Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health, you will be responsible for delivering time-limited, evidence-based psychological assessments and treatments to individuals with Tier-3 Mental Disorders and Substance Use Disorders.

The role is guided by disorder-based clinical care pathways and Stepped Care principles. Each clinician participates in a consultation group to ensure collegial support and effectiveness of assessments and treatments.

About You
  • You must have a successful completion of Masters in Psychology and be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
  • Minimum of two years' clinical experience is required working in the field of Mental Health & Addictions.
  • You should have demonstrated knowledge of time-limited evidence-based psychological assessments and treatments for Mental Disorders and Substance Use Disorders, and a commitment to same.
  • You should also have demonstrated knowledge of Stepped Care principles and clinical care pathways, and a commitment to same.
  • You should demonstrate accountability and attention to detail, as well as the ability to synthesize information, problem solve, and utilize good judgment in decision making.
  • You should also demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice, as well as a commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health.
  • You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing clinical supervision, learning, and professional development, as well as the ability to work under pressure to handle multiple projects concurrently and maintain personal health and meet deadlines.
  • You should also be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and have competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
