At Island Health, we are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Medical Lead in our Medical Imaging division. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated individual to lead and contribute to the advancement of healthcare services in our organization.
About the Role
The successful candidate will serve as a key leader in our Medical Imaging team, collaborating closely with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders to enhance teamwork and continuous quality improvement of laboratory services. With strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of medical practice standards, this individual will be responsible for monitoring and anticipating workforce needs, developing and implementing effective policies and procedures, and facilitating research and education initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: The Medical Lead will co-lead activities to ensure physicians and staff work together effectively to monitor and improve service delivery, linking with Division Heads and Chiefs of Staff to address matters of physician governance and professional medical practice issues.
- Operations & Quality: This individual will implement processes and structures to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement of service delivery, monitoring team budget and performance jointly with the Co-Leader and making course corrections when necessary.
- Change Management: As change management champion, the Medical Lead will engage and support physicians and staff through change, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing disruptions to services.
- Informatics: The Medical Lead will lead team activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery, leveraging electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning: This individual will assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs, working closely with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
Additional Responsibilities
- This position requires regular attendance at Leadership Meetings and participation in orientation and training sessions.
- The Medical Lead will also be expected to maintain accurate records and reports related to their duties and responsibilities.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is between $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
