Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Concordia Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to our patients and promoting healthy eating habits within our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Care: Provide personalized nutrition counseling and education to patients, taking into account their unique needs and health goals.
  • Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, staff, and students on various aspects of nutrition and health.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure that all nutrition services meet the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to professional guidelines and regulations.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition and healthcare, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Research and Collaboration: Participate in research studies and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to advance the field of nutrition and healthcare.
  • Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care in crisis situations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutritional Sciences or a related field from an accredited Canadian university program or equivalent international education.
  • Experience: Two years of clinical nutrition experience preferred, with a strong background in patient care and nutrition counseling.
  • Certification and Registration: Must be a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba and a member of the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
  • Skills and Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, with the ability to lift and move objects as needed.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Travel and Flexibility: May be required to travel to meetings and conferences, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and extended hours.
