Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Misericordia Health Centre. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional nutritional care to our patients, ensuring their well-being and recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Client Care: Deliver personalized nutrition counseling and support to patients, addressing their individual needs and health goals.
  • Education: Conduct informative sessions for patients, staff, and students on various aspects of nutrition and healthy eating habits.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of nutritional care services by participating in quality initiatives and assessments.
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in dietetics through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Research: Participate in research projects related to nutrition and healthcare, contributing to evidence-based practice.
  • Safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure and healthy environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetics, or a related field from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Completion of a recognized dietetic internship program accredited by Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) or planned practicum as requested by the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
  • Registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC) is recommended.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training in accordance with Employer policy.

  • General knowledge of food and nutrient analysis.
  • Proficiency in computer systems.
  • Adherence to ethical, legislative, and legal parameters of the dietetics profession.
Physical Requirements

The role may require:

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
  • Interaction with potentially aggressive or agitated individuals.
  • Travel for meetings (on-site).
