Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Patient & Family Support Services, the Registered Dietitian plays a vital role within the Nutrition Services team. Collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, this position focuses on providing outpatient medical nutrition therapy through a person-centered model of care.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering personalized medical nutrition therapy to patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Acting as a resource for CancerCare Manitoba programs and committees, including the Community Oncology Program (COP).
  • Developing and delivering educational programs for patients, families, and staff on various nutritional topics.
  • Participating in research initiatives related to oncology nutrition.
  • Mentoring dietetic interns and fostering their professional growth.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutritional Sciences.
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
  • Membership with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba or other provincial RD college/regulatory body.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical dietetics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to an interdisciplinary model of care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with public speaking.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Satisfactory employment record.

Preferred:

  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada.
  • Membership with the Dietitians of Canada Oncology Network.
  • Ability to speak French.

Asset:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge and/or work experience in nutritional oncology.
