Job Description

As a Food Service Staff member, you will create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.

  • This is a 3-month term position with the possibility of an extension or permanent position.
  • The typical schedule includes 12 to 24 hours per week.
  • The usual shifts are evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Fulfilling orders and completing sales transactions.
  2. Maintaining inventory, preparing food, and providing product information to customers.
  3. Maintaining accuracy in all food and beverage preparation.
  4. Operating the cash register and handling different forms of payment from customers.
  5. Informing customers about coffee beans and preparations.
  6. Cleaning and stocking customer areas.
  7. Maintaining knowledge of Starbucks' products and procedures.
  8. Following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  9. Carrying out additional duties delegated by the Food Service Manager and Store Operator.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience as a Starbucks employee is not required but would be considered an asset.
  • Must have open and flexible availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous cash handling experiences preferred.
  • Ability to deliver world-class customer service and work in an upbeat, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an excellent team player and able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Must have previous customer service experience.
  • Must possess good upselling skills.
  • Professional image, including a name tag and proper grooming.
  • Strong computer and POS skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull min. 25 lbs.
  • Due to this position's sensitive nature, the successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check.
Compensation

The estimated hourly rate is $15-$20 CAD, depending on experience.

Hiring Rate: Negotiable based on qualifications.
