Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. This dynamic role will support the full spectrum of HR activities, reporting directly to the National Human Resources Manager.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Full Cycle Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Support the full cycle recruitment process for hourly production roles, including intake meeting, posting the job, screening candidates, interviewing with hiring managers, draft offer letters, and onboarding new hires.
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as the first-point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and best practices on legislative matters, company policies and procedures.
    • Manage the benefits administration process, including disability claims, communication with insurance providers, accommodation requests, early and safe return to work, and transitional modified duties.
    • Answer questions on benefits and company programs.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Work with the HR team and leaders to boost employee engagement, retention, and company culture through initiatives, surveys, and events.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • A minimum of two years of generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software (e.g., Dayforce, UKG).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
What We Offer

Vicwest offers a competitive salary range of $75,000-$85,000 based on experience, along with three weeks of paid vacation and one week of paid winter closure. You will also receive an annual profit-sharing bonus based on company performance and RRSP employer match up to 5%.
