Job Title: Executive Director, Qikiqtani School Operations

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Education Programs, the Executive Director, Qikiqtani School Operations is a key member of the senior administrative team responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality educational standards and services in Nunavut.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of education policies and programs that align with the Department's strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to education administrators and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Inuit communities, to promote education and cultural awareness.
  • Manage and oversee the operations of schools and education programs in the Qikiqtani region.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education or a related field, with a specialization in education administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in elementary and/or secondary education administration or management.
  • Experience as a principal or regional office administrator is an asset.
  • Classroom teaching experience is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in or commitment to completing an Educational Leadership program in Nunavut.
  • Fluency in Inuktut, English, and French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, and land is also an asset.
