Job Title: Executive Director, Qikiqtani School Operations

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Qikiqtani School Operations team. As a key member of the senior administrative team, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality educational standards and services in Nunavut.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Qikiqtani School Operations team to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational services
  • Develop and implement education policies and programs that align with the Department's strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Provide leadership and guidance to education administrators and staff
  • Ensure compliance with education regulations and standards
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education with a specialization in education administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in elementary and/or secondary education administration/management
  • Experience as a principal or regional office administrator
  • Two years of experience as a senior manager (e.g., Superintendent of schools)
  • Classroom teaching experience (elementary and/or secondary school)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in or committed to completing an Educational Leadership program in Nunavut
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, French)
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
