Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Community Development. This position is responsible for leading the Community Development Division and providing support to Nunavut municipalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and management of operations support provided to Nunavut municipalities
  • Ensure municipal compliance with relevant legislation and governance principles
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance departmental support to municipalities
  • Provide mentorship to subordinates and lead a team of professionals
  • Monitor and evaluate municipal operations and administer financial support programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Seven years of related work experience, including three years of progressive managerial experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of public accounting standards
  • Experience in municipal administration and a professional designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) an asset
