Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Qikiqtani School Operations team. As a key member of the senior administrative team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality educational standards and services in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of educational policies and programs in the Qikiqtani region.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Qikiqtani School Operations team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational services to students and communities.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Inuit communities, organizations, and stakeholders to promote education and cultural awareness.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education administration or management.
  • Proven track record of leadership and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and promote Inuit language and culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a northern or Indigenous context.
  • Knowledge of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and Inuktut language.
  • Fluency in one or more of the official languages of Nunavut (Inuktut, English, French).
