We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intake Worker to join our team at the Child Development Institute. As a key member of our intake team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to families and individuals seeking support and services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess needs and provide timely and effective support to families and individuals
- Respond to initial calls and inquiries for all CDI programs
- Triangulate and assess the family or individual situation and determine the need to prioritize access or refer to external or crisis services
- Collaborate with internal staff and community partners to navigate and facilitate the referral process between programs
- Meet and exceed professional standards, work within our vision, mission, values and goals and recommend process improvements to increase intake efficiency
- Child & Youth Work diploma and experience working with children, youth and parents, ideally within children's mental health
- Understanding of child development, child/youth mental health, family functioning, parenting issues and trauma, including child abuse and family violence
- Experience using intake screening tools and skills in initial triage and preliminary assessment, including identifying immediate mental health risks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a highly distractible environment
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to professionalism and respect
