The Prince George Native Friendship Centre is committed to delivering programs and services through a trauma-informed and culturally dynamic approach. As a key component of this journey, we prioritize ensuring the voices of each person are heard and included in our decision-making processes.

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join our team and support the Aboriginal Supported Child Development Program. The successful candidate will report to the Early Childhood Services Director and be responsible for program management and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program management and staff supervision
  • Collaboration with a diverse clientele on an individual and group basis
  • Child assessments and screenings as necessary
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree/Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related discipline
  • Current ECE, Infant Toddler and Special Needs Certification in BC is considered an asset

Experience/Skills:

  • Educational degree and/or relevant post-secondary education and work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working with children with special needs
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in an inclusive childcare setting
  • Demonstrated program management and strong staff supervision skills
  • Superior communication skills including: presentation skills, writing ability, computer proficiency, and authentic people skills
