Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Moncton, New Brunswick. The successful candidate will support our Recycling facility and other sites in the Atlantic Region, advising and assisting in the planning, organizing, monitoring, and review of daily site activities, incidents, Safe Return to Work and Occupational Disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an EHS culture with all managers and employees
  • Advise and support managers on EHS initiatives, programs, procedures, and tools
  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Investigate work-related accidents and analyze root causes
  • Support and audit the effectiveness of preventive measures
  • Participate in regulatory and third-party inspections and investigations
  • Respond to employee and customer EHS information requests
  • Plan and deliver EHS training sessions and monitor completion of mandatory training
  • Track and report on EHS metrics and key indicators
  • Support the rollout of corporate EHS programs and initiatives

Requirements

  • College diploma or university certification in EHS or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in an EHS position
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Acts and Regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and adaptation skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Technical skills acquired in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy
