High School Principal Job Description

Whistler Waldorf School is seeking a qualified leader to serve as the High School Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the legal and pedagogical requirements for operating a Waldorf school in British Columbia, including curriculum planning, delivery, assessment, and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to Whistler Waldorf School faculty, staff, students, and parents/guardians
  • Supervise and evaluate the Lower School, High School, and Student Support Chairs
  • Monitor and track Key Performance Indicators as identified in WWS' Strategic Plan
  • Collaborate with Operational Management Team to set measurable annual goals for the school
  • Conduct or oversee faculty performance evaluations
  • Ensure faculty compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Oversee progress report writing and ensure educational quality through regular program review and improvement
  • Approve field trips and guest speakers, and coordinate academic schedules
  • Work with Operational Management Team to complete monitoring and evaluation visits and AWSNA accreditation
  • Ensure opportunities for parent education and understanding of Waldorf education
  • Field concerns from parents/guardians and provide support and closure
  • Work collaboratively with Chairs to create a safe and positive school environment
Requirements:
  • Fully certified teacher in BC (or eligible to apply for a BC license)
  • 5+ years of teaching experience and preferred candidates will have 3+ years of educational leadership experience
  • Familiar with Waldorf school philosophy and ideally holds Waldorf teacher training credentials
  • Experienced in human resources, including hiring and firing, evaluation, and progressive discipline techniques
  • Proficient in working with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
  • Focused dedication to the mission and vision of Whistler Waldorf School
