Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced High School Principal to lead our educational team at Whistler Waldorf School. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the High School, ensuring compliance with legal and pedagogical requirements, and promoting a safe and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide day-to-day leadership to Whistler Waldorf School faculty, staff, students, and parents/guardians
    • Supervise and evaluate the Lower School, High School, and Student Support Chairs
    • Collaborate with Operational Management Team to set measurable annual goals for the school
  • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Ensure educational quality through regular educational program review and improvement
    • Oversee progress report writing and completion of Permanent Student Record forms
    • Ensure completion of long-term, mid-term, and short-term lesson planning
  • Student Safety and Well-being
    • Ensure student safety and well-being through regular monitoring and tracking of Key Performance Indicators
    • Collaborate with Operational Management Team to complete monitoring and evaluation visits
  • Communication and Community Engagement
    • Field concerns from parents/guardians and provide support and resolution
    • Work collaboratively with Chairs to create a safe and positive school environment
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Fully certified teacher in BC (or be eligible to apply for a BC license)
    • 5+ years of teaching experience and preferred candidates will have 3+ years of educational leadership experience
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Familiar with Waldorf school philosophy and educational principles
    • Experienced in human resources, including hiring and firing, evaluation, and progressive discipline techniques
    • Proficient in working with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
