Salary

$70,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Description

As a transportation mechanic at Arrow, you will be responsible for performing skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers, and mobile equipment.

You will provide routine maintenance on equipment, check for proper performance, inspect for faults and malfunctions, and maintain safe working conditions.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, and mobile equipment
  2. Check equipment for proper performance and inspect for faults and malfunctions
  3. Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  4. Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
  5. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment
  6. Perform incidental welding repairs on equipment
  7. Operate automotive servicing equipment
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques

Requirements

  • Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification
  • 2nd year apprentices or higher may be considered
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • A positive attitude and strong safety mindset
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • At least two job references
