We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team at First Truck Centre in Kamloops, BC. As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our hydraulic truck-mounted equipment and other heavy machinery.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and certifications. This includes:

  • Base wages with potential for overtime
  • Accrued vacation time
  • Annual tool and boot allowance

About the Role

As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of hydraulic truck-mounted equipment, as well as cranes, bucket trucks, and hi-rail vehicles. You will work closely with our foreman and service management team to ensure excellent customer communication and satisfaction.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate (or Apprentice level 4 technician)
  • BC Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset)
  • Mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a physically demanding environment, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift. You will also be required to use computerized scanning equipment and digital technology/mechanical software.
