Overview of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging at the University Health Network is one of the largest academic medical imaging departments in Canada. With over 750,000 exams performed annually, we set the standard for clinical excellence.

Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team of 700+ staff and 90 specialized radiologists prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.

Job Summary

This position involves performing various imaging procedures at UHN with an opportunity to be trained in Level three CT at two sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures, some General Radiography (when needed), and digital quality assurance
  • Communicate with team members and management personnel
  • Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring
  • Rotate to another UHN site, as determined
Requirements
  • Registration with the CMRITO
  • Previous General Imaging experience
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • One (1) year recent experience in related area of responsibility, required
  • Current experience (within the last 5 years) in computed tomography, required
  • Sensitivity towards patients in challenging situations
  • Strong technical skills and image quality
  • Basic anatomy and pathology knowledge
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and stress handling
  • Multitasking and teamwork
  • Problem-solving, recognition, and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuing education
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Good work performance and attendance history
  • Effective computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred qualifications include previous Level 3 CT experience or willingness to be trained, membership with the CAMRT, completion of a certified injection course, and current enrollment in the CTIC offered by the CAMRT
