At North York General Hospital, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of medical imaging. We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, Medical Imaging to join our team.

Job Summary

This part-time regular position, 8 hours, day shifts, including weekends, is responsible for performing imaging examinations in mammography and bone density that meet the established standards of the department and the CMRITO. The successful candidate will have the ability to operate imaging equipment in a fast-paced environment using good communication and multi-tasking skills, as well as effective time management skills and the ability to handle daily department workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all breast imaging and bone density examinations as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel
  • Implement proper procedures (re: health, safety, and radiation protection) for patients, employees, and visitors
  • Assume operational responsibility when on shift
  • Assist the Radiologist when required
  • Follow proper procedures for care of equipment, imaging rooms and supplies
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Breast Imaging Technologist
  • Completion of the following CAMRT courses: Breast Imaging 1, Breast Imaging 2, Imaging Breast Pathology and Bring Your Position Upfront: Breast Positioning Virtual Lecture
  • Completed certificate (or commitment to complete) in Breast Imaging-Diagnostic
  • Experience in Bone Mineral Density is preferred
  • Current CBMD certification with the OAR is an asset
  • Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, Excel, etc
  • BCLS certification an asset
  • Post-graduate experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Membership with CAMRT is recommended
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset
