Velma's House Administrative Coordinator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Coordinator to join our team at Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc., a nonprofit, community-based, Indigenous-led human services organization. Our safe space, Velma's House, provides a range of programs and services focused on the wholeness, wellness, and resilience of Indigenous People.

About the Role:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, including collecting and distributing information, facilitating meetings, and taking minutes.
  • Support the Program Coordinator in leading the team and providing ongoing leadership support.
  • Collaborate with frontline staff to provide referral and resource information to guests.
  • Assist with entry-level finance tasks, such as cheque requisitions, expenses, and purchase orders.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of issues related to mental health, gender-based violence, problematic substance use, and sexual exploitation.
  • Knowledgeable on resources and systems within Winnipeg.
  • Commitment to cultural reclamation practices and Two-Eyed Seeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
