Are you a seasoned academic leader looking for a new challenge? Avanti Software Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Academic Program Director to join our Nursing Department team.
About the RoleThis is a full-time opportunity that requires relocation to Fort McMurray, AB. As a Senior Academic Program Director, you will play a key operational and leadership role within the department, collaborating closely with the Dean to ensure effective functioning. The position involves administrative, supervisory, academic, and strategic responsibilities aimed at advancing the department's mission and overall success.
Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations within the department, including time-off approvals and faculty performance reviews.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure efficient processes related to scheduling, student services, and departmental communications.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively by working closely with the Dean and other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, community organizations, and alumni.
- Lead the establishment of program advisory committees for the department and liaise with the committee to facilitate relationships with employer groups, community organizations, and professional associations.
- A Master of Nursing degree or higher is required.
- Experience in academic leadership roles, preferably at the departmental level.
- Demonstrated success in academic program development and assessment.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic environments.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Proven success in team building and collaboration through excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop and foster trust, support, creativity, and innovation.
- Planning & Analytical Skills: Superior ability to plan, analyze, and manage projects, budgets, and day-to-day operations; proposal and report writing, setting appropriate metrics, and providing reports on these metrics.
- Financial Management: Experience in budget planning and monitoring.
- Performance Management: Understanding and experience with performance planning, coaching, and review process, as well as the performance improvement process.
- Adult Education: Knowledge and experience in adult learning principles, teaching methodology, and curriculum.
- Workforce and Community Development: Knowledge of workforce trends and community needs in regard to education and training.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong MS Office application skills and ability to adopt a systematic approach toward identifying and solving technical problems.
