About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at MCN Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the installation of various types of floor coverings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces

Inspect surfaces to be covered to ensure they are clean, dry, and free of any debris or contaminants. Prepare surfaces by removing any existing floor coverings, old adhesives, and other substances that may interfere with the installation of new floor coverings.

Measure and Install Floor Coverings

Measure and mark surfaces to be covered, taking into account any irregularities or obstacles. Cut and install resilient floor coverings, hardwood floors, and other types of floor coverings to ensure a precise and professional finish.

Inspect and Repair Damaged Floor Coverings

Inspect floor coverings for any signs of damage or wear and tear. Repair or replace damaged floor coverings as needed to ensure the integrity and appearance of the floor.

Work Site Environment

Work in a variety of environments, including commercial, residential, and industrial settings. Be able to work in dusty conditions and be physically fit to perform the demands of the job.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Work Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the floor covering industry is preferred.

Physical Demands

The job requires physical demands, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colors. Hand-eye coordination is also essential.

Personal Suitability

Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, judgment, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential qualities for this role.

Work in a variety of settings, including commercial, residential, and industrial environments.

Hours of Work

Work 30 to 40 hours per week.

Language

English is the primary language of communication.
