About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at MCN Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of floor coverings in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding, as well as measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
  • Hardwood Floor Installation: Prepare and install hardwood floors, ensuring a seamless and professional finish.
  • Damage Repair: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, restoring them to their original condition.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare floors for installations, removing existing floor coverings and contaminants as needed.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Work Environment

As a Floor Covering Specialist, you will work in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential locations. You will be exposed to dusty environments and will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in floor covering installation.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Security Clearance: Criminal record check required.
