Job Description

A challenging opportunity to advance your career as a Mental Health Specialist Lead with Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide expert clinical services, consultation, and education to clients, families, and referral sources.

About the Role

This advanced level psychology position allows you to work collaboratively with or within teams to deliver evidence-based services for patients with complex needs. You will be responsible for providing formal psychological assessments, consultation, and education, and may lead, facilitate, or participate in program development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement, and evaluation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for adult outpatient mental health programs and the Shared Mental Health Care program.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide consultation and education to interdisciplinary professional staff.
  • Liaise with referral sources and clients to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in program development, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program.
  • Active or eligible registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
  • 1-2 years' experience in conducting formal comprehensive psychological assessments with adults with a wide variety of mental health disorders and health problems.
  • 1-2 years' experience working with interdisciplinary outpatient mental health staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently and have effective self-management skills.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
