Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and expertise in wound and skin care to staff, clients, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in wound and skin care to staff, clients, and families.
  • Develop and implement education programs for wound and skin care staff and clients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound and skin care for clients.
  • Role model direct client care skills to staff and students.
  • Deliver educational activities to staff, students, and clients through teaching, facilitating groups, mentoring, and conducting formal presentations.
  • Develop and implement orientation and professional development programs for wound and skin care staff.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness to ensure clinical objectives are met and resources are current, relevant, and cost-effective.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities for wound and skin care.
  • Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals/providers to identify and resolve client/family issues.
  • Participate in research and special projects in wound and skin care.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Three years' recent related clinical skin and wound care experience, including one year experience in a leadership/education role in a community health environment.
  • Completion of a recognized course in wound ostomy and continence, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
