Job Summary

The Clinician, Wound and Skin Care is a key member of the Fraser Health team, responsible for providing expert consultation and clinical leadership in wound prevention and skin care management in Residential Care settings. This role requires a strong understanding of evidence-informed practice and education theory, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation and clinical expertise in wound prevention and skin care management to Residential Care staff
  • Develop and implement education programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in wound and skin care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound and skin care of residents
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities to enhance wound and skin care practices
  • Consult and collaborate with experts and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve resident and family issues
  • Participate in research and special projects to advance wound and skin care knowledge and practices
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course or Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Course
  • Three years' recent experience in Wound and Skin Care within a residential/geriatric care setting
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes

  • Ability to apply educational theories and evidence to teaching practices
  • Ability to establish educational priorities to meet identified program, organization, and learner needs
  • Ability to implement education based on changing practices
  • Ability to foster effective teaching and learning relationships
  • Ability to facilitate learning and create effective learning environments
