Job Title: Steward

At Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Steward to join our Food and Beverage team. As a Steward, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consistently provide professional and friendly service to our guests and colleagues.
  • Follow all stewarding policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure all dishes, glasses, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized using the appropriate machinery.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the stewarding kitchen areas.
  • Supply equipment and supplies to the kitchen and dining areas as needed.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment.
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles.
Requirements:
  • Previous stewarding experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Working Environment:
  • Standing: 6-8 hours/day.
  • Sitting: 0-1 hour/day.
  • Walking: 6-8 hours/day.
  • Bending/reaching: 6-8 hours/day.
  • Pushing/pulling: 6-8 hours/day.
  • Physical effort: high - required to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Environmental stress: high - hot, loud, work with chemicals and hot water, must be willing to get hands dirty.
