About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Steward to join our team at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As a Steward, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently provide exceptional service to our guests and colleagues
  • Follow all stewarding policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Ensure all equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen and dining areas
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Supply equipment and utensils to kitchen and dining areas as required
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies
  • Adhere to hotel vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

Requirements:

  • Previous stewarding experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Working Environment:

  • Standing: 6-8 hours/day
  • Sitting: 0-1 hour/day
  • Walking: 6-8 hours/day
  • Bending/reaching: 6-8 hours/day
  • Pushing/pulling: 6-8 hours/day
  • Physical effort: high – required to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Environmental stress: high - hot, loud, work with chemicals and hot water, must be willing to get hands dirty
  • Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel

Visa Requirements:

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
