About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Steward to join our Food and Beverage team at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As a Steward, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of service and quality in our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to guests and colleagues alike, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our dining areas.
  • Follow all stewarding policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain the highest level of quality and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots, and cooking utensils are cleaned and sanitized using the appropriate machinery.
  • Remove garbage and compost from the kitchen and maintain the cleanliness and organization of stewarding kitchen areas.
  • Supply equipment requirements for the kitchen and outlets, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies, including vehicle handling and safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous stewarding experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on providing exceptional guest service.
  • Highly responsible and reliable, with the ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

Working Environment:

  • Standing: 6-8 hours/day
  • Sitting: 0-1 hour/day
  • Walking: 6-8 hours/day
  • Bending/reaching: 6-8 hours/day
  • Pushing/pulling: 6-8 hours/day
  • Physical effort: high – required to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Environmental stress: high - hot, loud, work with chemicals and hot water, must be willing to get hands dirty
