The Optical Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Vision Centre, ensuring that all activities affecting people, operations, and merchandise within the division are managed effectively. This role requires strong leadership and business acumen to drive sales growth, control expenses, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Reports to the Divisional Manager for professional services and is accountable for delivering sales budget and controlling wages according to the Profit and Loss statement.
- Business Development: Develops the optical business through executing programs and promoting the Walmart brand, building collaborative relationships with optometrists and other healthcare providers in Walmart and within the community.
- Customer Experience: Troubleshoots and problem-solves issues to ensure an excellent customer experience, accepts and evaluates written prescription orders from customers or doctors, and maintains overall safe working conditions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Responsible for following and upholding provincial and federal guidelines when dispensing prescription and non-prescription eyewear, and maintaining the Vision Centre fully operational during posted business hours.
- Team Management: Exercises authority to delegate tasks to other associates within their regulatory framework to manage their workload, and must be familiar with the regulatory environment in their region and practice within it.
