We are seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Lead to join our team at TAL Life LTD in Toronto. As a key member of our Corporate Finance group, you will play a critical role in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity offers a unique blend of financial expertise and leadership skills. You will be responsible for managing subsidiary reporting and analysis, reviewing complex corporate accounting entries, and performing research and analysis to present findings on ad-hoc technical accounting matters.

  • Manage monthly subsidiary reporting and analysis with divisional finance teams and other corporate departments;
  • Review of complex corporate accounting entries;
  • Perform research and analysis and present findings for ad-hoc technical accounting and financial disclosure matters;

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be expected to actively participate in the management of our ERP system (SAP) to identify efficiencies and improvements to the monthly close process. If you have a strong background in consolidation and financial reporting, experience leading and coaching a team of accounting professionals, and excellent Microsoft Excel skills, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting;
  • CPA designation with 'Big 4' accounting firm experience;
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience with consolidation and financial reporting in a public company environment;
  • Experience leading and coaching a team of accounting professionals;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities and ability to translate data to key insights for senior management;

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of attention to detail, quality of work, and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively in different geographies. Experience in Financial Services or Asset Management is highly desirable.

Estimated Salary Range: CAD $120,000 - CAD $180,000 per annum
