About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Instruments and Securities Reporting Lead to join our team at RBC. This is a full-time salaried position based in Toronto, Canada.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the coordination, preparation, and reconciliation of financial statement disclosures, board materials, and/or regulatory returns. This includes:

  • Ensuring timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports in accordance with RBC's consolidated reporting timelines.
  • Translating and interpreting complex financial information, conducting data analysis, and identifying patterns, trends, or insights.
  • Analyzing reports and related data for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and data quality issues.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in an accounting/finance and reporting environment, preferably in the financial services sector. They will possess advanced technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly with respect to Financial Instruments.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders.
  • Implementing process changes to drive efficiency and meet changing external requirements.
  • Maintaining an exceptional control environment.

They will work closely with senior members from across finance to build relationships and identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional accounting or finance designation.
  • Advanced Excel functions skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing and analyzing large data sets.
  • Ability to manage timelines and project progress.

You will also need to have strong leadership skills, including experience in people management and empowerment.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings plans.
