About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Senior HSE Engineer, where you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Conduct site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement controls for identified hazards, coordinating their implementation based on hazard analyses results.
  • Prepare safety orientations, safety training materials, and job site inspection procedures, conducting specialized safety and environmental training programs.
  • Participate in Safe Operations Committee meetings, reviewing and analyzing injury, property damage, and statistical loss data to create comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ensure essential safety requirements are incorporated into all purchasing and contracting actions, recommending the purchase of safety equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company requirements.
  • Assist management in monitoring employee and contractor adherence to the department's safety program.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, or environmental science, or a related field, preferably with certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
  • A minimum of 8 years of related safety/operations experience and/or training, preferably in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry or in a related field.
  • Knowledge or training in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable industry, governmental, and/or international standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands-on health, safety, and environmental training, with the ability to assist with developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive health and safety programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to participate in teams and/or committees.
