About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at THE RANCH HOUSE RESTAURANT. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and develop new menus, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train our kitchen staff, including specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers, to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and optimal stock levels.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all food meets our high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude, and promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the kitchen.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Certificate.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines. You must be able to stand for extended periods and be comfortable in a hot and wet kitchen environment.
