Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Resources Coordinator to join our team at Seabird Island Band. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and responding to referrals related to natural resources and environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze data to inform decision-making on natural resource management and environmental sustainability.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans to ensure effective collaboration with community members, stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Conduct social, economic, and environmental analyses and assessments to inform land use planning and natural resource management decisions.
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimize the environmental impacts of natural resource development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement sustainable land use plans and natural resource management strategies.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or a related field.
  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Stó:lō culture, history, traditions, and language is an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
