Environmental Project Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our environmental projects and teams, with a focus on First Nations fisheries and Indigenous Rights. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and project management, with a proven track record of leading teams and projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee environmental projects, including scoping, planning, development, budgeting, and execution
- Lead the development and submission of grant applications, including proposal writing and budget creation
- Lead and oversee data collection, compilation, interpretation, and reporting for environmental projects
- Demonstrate leadership and coordination of staff within the Fish & Wildlife Division, providing direction and mentoring junior staff
- Liaise with consultants, private stakeholders, government agencies, and First Nations representatives
- Advocate for First Nations fisheries and lobby Indigenous Rights as they relate to traditional territory and natural resources
- Plan and execute projects aimed at protecting and rebuilding regional species at risk and species of cultural importance to Seabird Island
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Biology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years in an environmental field, such as fisheries, wildlife, contaminated sites, or construction environmental management
- 2+ years of project management experience, including leading a negotiating team
- Experience developing reports, proposals, cost estimates, and presentations
- Experience working with Indigenous Groups and in multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience with primary and secondary research, including data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation
