We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at the Insurance Bureau of Canada. As a key member of our esteemed team, you will contribute to groundbreaking initiatives that support our regional teams and member companies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of economists/researchers in the production of public policy materials.
- Develop and oversee a robust research program, leveraging your thorough understanding of economic theory and public policy.
- Collaborate with the Acting Assistant Chief Economist and Head of Industry Data to develop strategies and associated tactics to engage stakeholders, lobby governments, and communicate with the public.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of industry issues and public policy issues, particularly those relevant to the region you support as a business partner.
- Master's degree in economics, finance, public policy, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience working on public policy issues, particularly economic policy issues.
- Expertise in conducting thorough primary and secondary research, including jurisdictional scans.
- Experience using Excel to manage and analyze data efficiently, as well as fluency with key statistical and econometric software tools.
- Project management experience, including setting priorities, influencing others, and taking initiative to ensure on-time delivery.
