We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our Healthcare Evaluative Research team at the Ontario Medical Association. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis in the areas of health services research and/or health economics to support health policy evaluation and development.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting Research and Analysis
You will be responsible for preparing academic research papers related to physician and population health interests, conducting analysis using large healthcare administrative databases, survey datasets, and external data sources as appropriate to address policy relevant research questions.
Collaborating with StakeholdersYou will collaborate with other departments in evaluating existing datasets and identifying information gaps that need to be filled, and develop and strengthen relationships with external partners to identify opportunities to share information, collaborate on projects, and influence outcomes.
Communicating Research FindingsYou will prepare reports, presentations, and data visualizations for various departments, committees, and other partners to explain research and analytic findings.
Requirements- Education and Experience
You must have a PhD in Health Services Research, Economics, or equivalent, and 2-5 years' relevant experience.
Technical SkillsYou must have demonstrated expertise with statistical/economic software, including SAS, STATA, and related applications.
Knowledge and UnderstandingYou must have knowledge of Ontario's healthcare system, OMA's role, and key data/information sources (e.g., CIHI, OHIP, OPRC).
