About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs. As a key member of our economic policy and analysis team, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and analysis to support the development of policies and programs that promote economic reconciliation and prosperity for Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Economic Analysis and Modelling: Conduct advanced economic analysis and modelling to inform policy decisions and program development, including the design and implementation of complex statistical analysis and economic modelling.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies and programs that promote economic reconciliation and prosperity for Indigenous communities.
  • Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research and data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for economic growth and development in Indigenous communities.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and disseminate analytical results and policy recommendations to senior decision-makers and stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, government officials, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of economic theories and methodologies, mathematical concepts, and economic modelling techniques.
  • Research and Data Analysis: Proven research methodologies and data analysis techniques to extract and analyze relevant data.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to develop and disseminate analytical results and policy recommendations to senior decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of economic and forecasting projects.
