Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our SRE team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and implementing cloud database solutions for our Digital First Banking platform. You will work closely with our software engineering, enterprise architecture, and platform architecture teams to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud database solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Develop and maintain database automation scripts using Terraform or configuration management utilities
  • Ensure database design patterns align with industry best practices, including RDMBS 3NF, NoSQL, and open-source databases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements and technical standards
  • Develop and maintain database security standards and governance
  • Partner with engineering teams to design and implement SRE metrics and monitoring strategies
  • Ensure database solutions meet PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and SOC2 certification requirements
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in database engineering and administration
  • 3+ years of experience in public cloud implementation, preferably GCP or AWS
  • Experience with SRE as a discipline and ITIL processes
  • Strong understanding of database design patterns, including RDMBS 3NF, NoSQL, and open-source databases
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if needed
Preferred Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with database managed services in cloud, such as CloudSQL
  • Working knowledge of Terraform scripting to develop infrastructure as code
