Job Summary

This Senior Database Engineer role is responsible for designing, deploying, and implementing cloud database solutions for NCR's Digital First Banking platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud platforms, database automation, and design patterns, as well as experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud database solutions for NCR's Digital First Banking platform
  • Develop and maintain database automation scripts using Terraform and configuration management utilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with software engineering, enterprise architecture, and platform architecture
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of cloud database solutions
  • Develop and maintain SRE metrics and monitoring strategies, including SLI and SLO
  • Partner with engineering teams to develop and implement SRE guidelines across all clouds
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline
  • 4-6 years of database experience
  • 3+ years of experience in public cloud implementation
  • Exposure/experience with SRE as a discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with GCP and/or AWS cloud platforms and technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in software development (DevOps and database admin automation)
  • 5+ years of datacenter technology, architecture, and operational experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and SOC2 certifications
Preferred Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with database managed services in cloud (like CloudSQL)
  • Working knowledge of Terraform scripting to develop 'infrastructure as code'
