Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our SRE team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and implementing cloud databases for our Digital First Banking platform. You will work closely with our software engineering, enterprise architecture, and platform architecture teams to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud databases for our Digital First Banking platform
  • Develop and maintain database automation scripts using Terraform and configuration management utilities
  • Ensure database design patterns align with industry best practices and NCR's standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain database security standards and governance
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure database solutions are integrated with other systems
  • Develop and maintain database metrics and monitoring strategies
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in database engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in public cloud implementation
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Strong understanding of database design patterns and industry best practices
  • Experience with database automation tools such as Terraform
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with database managed services in cloud
  • Working knowledge of Terraform scripting
