GFL Environmental Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Communications, Marketing, the successful candidate will be a key member of the GFL Marketing Team responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of GFL's social media activities. The ideal candidate will be a creative, resourceful storyteller with strong writing and language skills, able to handle a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media content strategy that aligns with GFL's company goals;
  • Create and manage a monthly social media content calendar that showcases GFL's brand voice;
  • Oversee the Marketing Team's social media workflow, ensuring timely and effective deployment of all social media content;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across GFL to develop social content, including campaigns;
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics and performance data to optimize content strategy;
  • Assist the Director of Communications with strategic planning for GFL's communications channels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, content writing or related field;
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional communications, copy writing, social media or content writing role;
  • Proven experience in social media management or coordination;
  • Exceptional writing, language, and proofreading skills, strong attention to detail;
  • Clear and effective communicator;
  • Creative, resourceful storyteller;
  • Able to handle a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines;
  • Strong sense of initiative and drive, excellent organizational skills, able to work independently or in a team.
