About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Concurrent Disorder Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto Branch. As a key member of our Addictions Program, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support to individuals struggling with mental illness and addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and other therapeutic programs to support clients in their recovery journey.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health, substance use, and physical health needs.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and support to clients, including referrals to group programs and other community resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans that address clients' complex needs.
  • Participate in agency-wide meetings and consultations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field, with specialized training in addictions.
  • At least three years of experience working in community mental health and addiction services.
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and case management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing circumstances.
