Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team in the Durham Region. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct therapy sessions to individuals under the guidance and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients of various ages, including children, adults, and rehabilitation patients, under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Work with clients from diverse backgrounds and specialized populations, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Collaborate and consult with Speech Language Pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement therapy materials as needed, and provide families with resources, information, and home programs.
  • Assist with parent and client workshops, and participate in ongoing education and training to stay current in the field.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant program.
  • Member of the Canadian Association of Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAAC).
  • Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
